At Tulsanthropology, we believe Tulsa's cultural richness is best explored together. We're a cultural hub and creative agency committed to engaging with our city's diverse communities, histories, and stories. Through collaborative research and marketing, multimedia content, and cultural events, we aim to promote dialogue, understanding, and preservation, shaping a stronger, more connected Tulsa.
Jobi Tyson, a celebrated cultural anthropologist, marketer, and magazine publisher with over two decades of experience, is the driving force behind Tulsanthropology. Her fieldwork is shaped by the powerful intersection of two significant historical events: her uncle's survival of the Tulsa Race Massacre and her descent from Nat Turner, the leader of the largest slave rebellion in the US.
Captivated by Tulsa's resilience and rich cultural tapestry, fueled her participation in the inaugural TulsaBound cohort in Fall 2024, which revealed a city brimming with untold stories. From the echoes of Black Wall Street to the enduring traditions of Indigenous communities, she recognized the need for a cultural hub that would not only honor these stories but also celebrate the ongoing contributions of Tulsans from all walks of life.
Tulsanthropology's strategic partnerships are rooted in a profound cultural exploration, moving beyond client relationships and simple business listings to illuminate your company's unique contribution to Tulsa's vibrant landscape.
